Kent State University
Welcome to my career portfolio, an introduction to my studies and work in the library field. This site was designed as a capstone to my Master of Library and Information Science degree program at Kent State University. Using what I have learned in this program and in my early career in Children's Librarianship, I look to bring diversity-centered and innovative Social Emotional Learning to the children's library collections and programming. Thank you for visiting!

WHAT I DO
REFERENCE SERVICES & READER ADVISORY
Excellent customer service and reference skills require a culturally responsive approach to our communities' resource needs.
CHILDREN'S PROGRAMMING WITH SOCIAL EMOTIONAL & DIVERSITY FOCUS
Early reading and community connection thrive when children have the resilience, self-awareness and diversity-mindset required to face new situations.
PERFORMER & SONGWRITER
I write kids' songs with social-emotional and STEAM themes to encourage kids to play, move, and learn at storytime!
PERSONAL MISSION
I am committed to a public librarianship that centers the whole patron, addressing their social, educational, and emotional needs. As library workers, we create spaces for patrons to connect, learn, and belong. As a Youth Services Librarian, I look to advance my mission by integrating diversity-driven social-emotional learning into the programming we offer to children and teens.
